About Smoothie Blenders
There are many ways to make a Smoothie using three different types of blender. The one below is made specifically for smoothies but there are other options too.
There’s a larger traditional blender, smoothie blenders or makers and lastly a hand held blenders. These three types all make smoothies and all three have their individual good points too.
Which smoothie blender shall I buy?
The traditional blender is excellent for making smoothies as well as sauces. The additional feature is the great chopping motion which allows you to really chop the chunkier pieces of fruit or vegetables right down.
The smoothie maker or blender (above) is designed especially for smoothies. It often has a higher voltage than the traditional blender to pulverize the fruit. The main container is made of glass which is better when inserting ice cubes into it as ice cubes may scratch plastic when spun around at high speed. The smoothie blender/maker is cheaper that the traditional blender but it cannot do as many jobs as its counterpart.
The hand held blender is much more portable than either of the two above and cheaper too. The hand held version is much easier to clean and there are less parts to dismantle. It also can blend various sauces directly into the saucepan, mix scrambled eggs, pancakes, whipped cream, mashed potato, hot and cold frothy drinks as well as the smoothie. You can also blend your own ingredients so your baby can eat healthier food that the canned variety.
Smoothies are an ideal way to use as part of a calorie controlled diet, they can help reduce cholesterol and can help you maintain your five a day fruit and vegetables without even noticing you have had them!
Smoothies can be a great way to help young children get their regular five a day portions. At children’s parties you can make smoothie ice lollies which are kinder to the teeth and growing bones.
If you purchase and start using a blender, you’ll feel healthier and wonder how you ever managed without one – it’s great value for money.
